No, you do not need to send to the Québec Bar the certificate of attendance that the provider of a training activity is required to give you (as a participant or as a trainer). Instead, it has to be kept in your personal files and it will be useful for completing your training statement.

Yes, you are entitled to an exemption for parental leave equivalent to 1 ¼ hour for each month of parental leave up to 15 hours per compliance period. You do not need to apply for an exemption. You will only need to declare your exemption in your training statement.

Yes, graduate and doctoral law studies are automatically recognized by the Comité if they are provided by a faculty of law of a university in Quebec, Canada or abroad.
The following programs are also automatically recognized by the Comité if they are provided by an university in Quebec, Canada or abroad:
Specialized Graduate Diplomas in Taxation (D.E.S.S.)
Graduate Diploma in Fight against Financial Crime
MBA
Master of Taxation
Master in Legal Translation
For these training activities, you only have to declare the training hours spent in your training statement and to retain proof of registration and participation. No application for recognition shall be submitted to the Comité.

Yes, training activities held outside the Province of Québec and approved by another Canadian bar or foreign bar as part of a Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) program in that other bar are automatically recognized by the Comité:
regardless of whether or not you are a member of that other bar, and;
regardless of whether or not this training activity is offered by that bar itself or by a supplier accredited by that bar.
It is up to you to ensure that the training activity is approved by the foreign bar under its own mandatory continuing legal education program.

The training activities provided by the Québec Bar are listed in the catalog of the Québec Bar training activities. In fairness to all members who wish to register, the Québec Bar favors online registration for all its courses. Online registration instantly provides a place for the chosen activity, while registration by fax or by mail may cause some delays.
Thus, we recommend members to register online by submitting the "FORMULAIRE D'INSCRIPTION EN LIGNE" available in the description of each of the Québec Bar training activity.
