Applying for equivalence with the Barreau du Québec

To obtain a temporary restrictive permit or a full permit (foreign lawyers or jurists) to become a member of the Barreau du Québec and be authorized to practice law in Quebec, you must apply for equivalence.

How to apply

You must complete the Request for recognition of equivalence of a professional trained in law outside Quebec (in French only) and return it to the Barreau together with the relevant documents.

List of recognized courses (in French only)

For the purpose of diploma equivalence, a list of courses recognized by the Equivalences Committee of the Barreau du Québec is available.
