Wills and mandates
Search for a will or mandate
Are you looking for a will or a protection mandate? You must search through the Registers of wills and mandates of the Barreau du Québec.
Canada Post strike
The current strike at Canada Post is preventing us from delivering testamentary and mandate search certificates. While this situation is beyond our control, we are committed to minimizing any inconvenience it may cause.ive an email explaining the steps to retrieve it.
Once your requested certificate of search for a will or protection mandate is ready, you will receive a copy via email.
While this is an unofficial copy, it may still be useful for certain procedures. However, since most institutions typically require an original document, the official certificate will be sent to you as soon as Canada Post services resume.
Alternatively, you can collect your certificate in person at the reception desk of the Maison du Barreau: simply schedule an appointment online and visit us Monday to Friday, between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM (including lunch hours), at the following address:
Maison du Barreau
445 Saint-Laurent Boulevard
Montreal, Quebec H2Y 3T8
To avoid unnecessary travel, please ensure you have received an email confirming the certificate is ready before coming to pick it up. This email explains the procedure for collecting the search certificate and booking an online appointment.
For any additional questions, please contact Info-Barreau, Monday to Friday, from 8:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.:
